Strangest Band Moment or Most Unusual Nickname

This one just sounded like it might be interesting. Maybe somebody else has one of those "do you remember when" thoughts to put out here. (And maybe there are some fun things that happened that some of us weren't aware of.) So here goes... At the hotel in NYC, our Ms. Rives injured her leg while attending a party in Steve Langston's hotel room (along with pretty much everybody who didn't go see The Wiz). Palmer wouldn't allow her to walk or even hop - guess he was afraid of a blood-clot or something. In an effort to be the good Samaritan, I carried her from the hotel room to the bus, and thus ended up with the nickname "Amazon."

Robyn Rives? What happened to her? Where are you Robyn Rives!??

Could be. All I know for sure is that Robyn flopped down on a bed, got flipped off the bed and banged the side of her calf on the windowsill. (That's the story they told me, anyway.) Scott Cullen (BooBoo) said:

My strangest band moment just occurred to me;
We were playing a contest at the fairgrounds. It was cold, and drizzly, and we were under a shed trying to stay dry and keep the horns warmed up and tuned. I'd set the tuba down when Mr. Morrow yelled, "Come on!"
I jerked the horn up and onto my shoulder not at all aware of the 4' fluorescent bulbs right above my head.
I smashed one and the shards rained all over me.
Later at home, when I was undressing, I noticed a 1 1/2" gash on the uniform coat just above my right shoulder. A coat, you may remember, which was wool and quite thick.
I have no idea how I didn't get cut anywhere.

Wasn't it on the New Orleans trip that someone took a midnight swim(OK, it may not have actually been midnight)? I think I remember having a picture of someone jumping into the motel swimming pool one night. I don't remember who it was though. I do remember it was quite cold (it was February!) and they came out of the water quickly.

One of Mom's cousins is married to one of Robyn's cousins - I'll have to remember to ask about her.

How about Sonya Bowman running around all the time doing her "Bing bing bing - Kmart Bluelight Special!" to which somebody (was it you, Keith?) announced "Sonya Bowmans - two for a dollar!"

Don't ask me where the heck it came from, but for some unknown reason I started calling Carol Hubbard "Chunk" (???) and Charlie Shaffer "Tuna-flow". OMG-what an idiot I was back in the day! So lame...
