Scott, Last night at work, I discovered the tribute website you started after I had been talking to folks about the Macy's Parade. It almost drove me to tears (well, maybe thats an exaggeration), but I think this is a fine tribute to our band in 78/79! Oh, and I had never seen or heard our performance that was on Nat T.V. that frigid day in the Big Apple. Great job! The only bandmembers I had (or have) kept up with were Neal Farrar (may he rest in peace.he was always one of my good friends), John Stevens who I recently saw at his wedding in Sept. 08 (I'll tell him about the site), George Griff about every 7 years (I didn't realize that he'd replaced Eddie in Van Halen, though) and I saw Harold Warren on mother's day but I see he is registered. But I'll log in from time to time to see who else has registered. This is good stuff for old folks!!!! Cheers from drum section! pitts
Hey Padro,
Glad you found this. I was hoping word would spread. I just watched a special on the history channel about the Macy's Parade and stopped in to check on the site. I was thinking of you just recently, since my daughter (14YO) is in the percussion section of her HS Band. I tell stories every year about the parade. I can't believe it has been 30 years. Spread the word if you see anyone.

The history channel had a program about the Macy's Parade and I missed it?!? How did I miss it? Maybe they will re-run it. Regardless, Fox 6 had a segment the other night about Lee Carpenter, former coach and economics teacher at HHS, site link is http://www.myfoxal.com/myfox/pages/ContentDetail?contentId=7952117 (hope the link works - if it doesn't, go to myfoxal.com and type in lee carpenter in the search box - the article you are looking for is called Lee Carpenter Inspires with Inner Strength). I knew he had been diagnosed with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, when he was quite young, but had not heard anything about him in some time so I was pleased to find he is still with us. It has been 23 years since his diagnosis, which is a phenomenal length of time for someone to live with this particular illness. If you haven't seen the segment, watch it - it is well worth it.
