The 1978-79 Homewood Patriot Marching Band

30th Anniversary of the first trip to Macy's

Still waiting on the album cover /interior scans, but thanks to my Mom she's finally converted what I believe to be all 6 tracks from the 1976 album to MP3 files. I can't quite figure out how to upload them here - the server seems to only accept videos. So, I've uploaded them to my personal ISP and provide the links below.

Let me especially recommend Tschaikovsky's Andante Cantabile, where you can hear some excellent solos by yours truly, Chris Lott, on the Tuba and Phyllis Berg on the Oboe. I think Phyllis had more, longer and more difficult solos, and pulled them off without a squeak!

Anyone want to guess how many batons were thrown at us to achieve this recording?

01. Andante Cabtabile
02. Piano Concerto #1
03. Fillmore - Americans We March
04. Gillis - Tulsa
05. Beethoven - Egmont
06. McBeth - Masque

Enyoy!

Did anybody ever get any recordings of some of our other "greatest hits" from concert season? You know the ones - Excerpts from New World Symphony, Coronation Scene (remember - it was a concert piece before it became a marching piece for N.O.), and of course the unforgettable bass drum solo (cannon) from 1812?

There is another record, details of which I am not clear. I haven't seen them in some time, they're at my Mom's house. I think she said the other record was from 1975, though I'm not quite sure. She did say that the quality of this other record was so bad, she's not sure it will transfer well. I don't remember whether we ever made other records or not. But maybe someone made a tape recording?
