In the literal sense:
The HHS Band is holding a fundraiser at SoHo Aug. 21 that defrays expenses of the trip to the Rose Bowl this year. Tickets are $30 and on sale through 8-13. Includes food, live music and a silent auction with more than 150 items. We're hosting the president of the Rose parade, who will be in town for a preview of the band earlier that day. If you're tempted, I'll hook you up with some tickets.
And if you're nearby, enjoy a day at Central Park in Homewood Aug 16. It's back-to-school bash/ festival benefiting the band, replacing band revenue lost when We Love Homewood Day was canceled due to tornadoes barreling down on the city this past spring.
