Trumpet...but always had roaming eyes toward the girls
What year did you graduate?
1979
What have you been up to for the last three decades?
After I left UAB, I lived in that well known suburb of Shoo Fly, North Carolina. Population: 4 (plus dog and 1 lizard) I was a domestic engineer...aka- a Mr. Dad. I have two beautiful daughters. After a twelve year stint, I moved to Ohio and worked as an assistant manager at a pharmacy. I then came out of the closet and became a lesbian... I had a stronger fetish for women.(meaning that my marriage ended and I was even more happy) In 2006, I moved back to Homewood to see if it was still on the map. And to my surprise-it survived without the help of the 3 amigos-Tuna, Thick and Sorry.- Charlie, Stephen L, and myself. My two daughters were in band in high school, it must be in the DNA. I have two grandsons, Tyler and Christopher. Tyler belongs to my daughter Tricia and is 6 years old. My daughter Lisa had Christopher back in Jan. I have 2 nephews that are currently in the Homewood High band and marched in the Rose Bowl Parade. My other nephew is in the middle school band. The latest on me? I now work at a pharmacy in this area. I'm also seeing Suzanne Shaffer..yes, Charlie's younger sister.
What's your fondest memory of the band?
Robert Spence going face first into the visitors parking lot during band camp's 8 to 5 practice. And giving my ticket to the Wiz to the high school's fashion coordinator, Glen Engstrand.
Anything else you want to share?
Now, like everyone else, I find myself thinking back to those fun days of high school (or even further back) and we all had our memories. It seems fun that after all this time, people still want to stay in touch. I just wonder how many of you out there really do remember me.. from things back then of if you have to look up my picture in an album. Feel free to let me know if there is a memory you might have that you want to share.
