You are right about the T-bird. My dad had that car up until a few years ago. He still has a 1959 pink Edsel.

Congratulations on the baby girl! I'll have to remember to tell Mom - she asks from time to time if I've heard anything from you. She's a cutie!

Hey, Jennifer - LOVE your picture! I can't get to my old annuals to match up some of the names with faces at the moment. Are you the one that had the old T-bird back in high school?

Did anybody ever get any recordings of some of our other "greatest hits" from concert season? You know the ones - Excerpts from New World Symphony, Coronation Scene (remember - it was a concert piece before it became a marching piece for N.O.), an...

Profile Information

What section of the band were you in?
Woodwinds
What instrument did you play? (if applicable)
Flute & Piccolo
What year did you graduate?
1979
What have you been up to for the last three decades?
Got married, went to Germany where my oldest daughter was born, came back to B'ham, had another daughter, and have been working ever since. Most recent addition to the family - grandbaby John.
What's your fondest memory of the band?
Gosh, there are so many! One of the funniest, though, was one of the guys sleeping in the overhead luggage rack on one of the buses (remember when we used to have folks doing that on the long trips?) While he started to climb down, the driver hit the brakes hard, sending him sailing up the bus and landing in a girl's lap. His response to the shocked girl - flinging his arms around her, he exclaimed "I just couldn't stay away from you any longer!"

I am gonna try my best to be there...keep in touch!

Leslie and Harold- I wouldn't have made it to school were it not for your Mom's cream-colored Caddy!

Oh, the hours of Paul Harvey's new en route to school!
Good memories.
Plus those at 2nd Presbyterian, too.

Yes, my oldest son, Jon, is getting married on October 4th! However, since I don't live in B'ham, I don't get the paper. So, I haven't seen it yet. I just heard last night that the announcement was in there! Thanks for noticing!

Hello there ... Yes I have risen from the deep woods. Last time I say you was at the Palisades gas station before I moved to Tennessee .... we are always drawn home. Luckily, I live just a couple of hrs. from home. We need to all gather for Homecoming ... heard a rumor of a band reunion, did you????
It was to be a fundraiser for the bands trip to the Rose Bowl.
Hope you have a good holiday Charlie

I remember Keith Cullen probably saved my limb on that Knoxville trip - I wanted to grab ahold of the moving trolley to save the fare, and he stopped me. Otherwise you'd be calling me "one-armed Chris". I remember being in that crowded hotel room, but I was only watching because of the excellent acting and camera work.

Steve suggested you might be able to connect with a number of folks. (Whitfields, Herron) Leslie's brother Danny was in the band then. Was Frances Bodden related to Kristie? I have missed out on DCI stuff for a while, but would love to see a competition.

Hey Leslie,

I was hoping we'd find you. I am still trying to convince Steve Langston to join in the fun here. He has connections with his sister Kathy, Charlie & Allison Shaffer, and Bruce Haden still. Congrats on the grandbaby.

Is Pollard still alive? Doc Severenson is dead I think. Don't recall you calling him - would have been a riot
