I don't know squat about what my big sister (Leslie) had to say, but even if I was indeed several years behind you in school, I still bemember your name and hope that all is well with you.
I wasn't at the party, but I'm remember the hair-catching-fire story. Unless there were two of them, it was Pam Chappell and the reason it caught fire was because Freddie P had a lit candle and was trying to drip the wax down her neck. We heard about it when Pam came back after the holidays with the back part of her hair shorter.
Got it... I happened to catch a few minutes of a soccer game at a sports pub the other night, and you're right. I didn't realize how few stripes are actually on a soccer field. I guess marching in Europe is a real challenge.
Yo Bro. Welcome. What's a topical storm? I remember Fort Walton as the first time I went to the beach. However, since the weather kept us restricted from the beach; Charlie, Steve, Bruce and I had a ground floor room; The dunes were high; We were boarding the bus to leave for home when I realized I had not even seen the gulf. I ran out and stood on the dune for 60 seconds just to see it before climbing on the bus.
8 - 5 hahaha. I wonder (members who have knowledge of DCI, listen up), do they have a different step when marching in European metric counties? 8 steps to 5 meters (instead of yards)? Hey, I'm an engineer, I'm allowed to ask such questions.
Hey Buddy! Your comments made me recall an incident our first year of band when Freddie P was director. We had a Christmas party one evening. I remember two things. One, our drum major (Todd ?) did his signature back flip in a darkened room where we had a strobe light running. I remember change flew out of his pocket. It was surreal, not only to see the flip in "stop motion", but to see the coins frozen in time as they flew around the room. I also remember your flying baton recepient Sonya - for some reason we were outside at the party holding candles (maybe singing carols?). Sonya was near me, and somehow her hair caught fire from one of the candles! We all slapped it out quickly, and no damage was done.
